Suffering and Smiling…….

I am so glad I have this portal to share my life experiences. Since I stepped out of my comfort zone and started sharing my story with family, it has been heart warming and refreshing to see how your truth sets you free. The truth is God Himself, He made me and uniquely formed me without any mistakes, therefore knowing God, my purpose and why He created me, sets me on a part of self acceptance and assurance that no matter what He’s got me. Anxiety affects us all at some point, but when it is a cycle that affects you physically, socially and your ability to function normally then it becomes a disorder.

I titled this suffering and smiling because today am sharing the effects anxiety has had on me. Get ready for some surprises if you know me, you will be amazed. This is why you should never judge people, am not crazy am only human. So many people suffering from anxiety tend not to say the whole truth, so they don’t get judged or looked at as being crazy. Here are the symptoms I have experienced during outbursts or episodes of anxiety, most of them I have learnt to deal with so I don’t experience them anymore, some am still learning how to cope with and recover. I strongly believe that am on my part to total recovery and good health.

    Repetitive thinking

    Fear thoughts

    Muscle tension

    Headache

    Mind chatter

    Throat pain

    Dizziness

    Sleep problems

Tingling and numbness in hands and feet

    Racing heartbeat

    Sensitivity/ phobia to particular spaces

Sensitivity to colours or types of objects

    Overeating

As an adult it is possible to go through these symptoms daily, but in my opinion these experiences steal your joy and completely leaves you exhausted all the time. I had to make a decision of coming to terms with what I was experiencing and made up my so confused mind that it was time to take control. Here are some of the strategies I have used in getting better.

  • Accepting and Identifying the problem

  • Knowing what triggers my anxiety

  • Sharing my anxiety with someone I trust

  • Experts help

  • Self talk

  • Living in the moment

  • Behavioural modification

  • Suppressing negative thought patterns

  • Facing my fears

  • Laughing out loud at my fears

  • Listening or saying out positive self affirmations

  • Praying and reading scriptures on anxiety, worrying and fear

  • Singing and dancing to worship songs

  • Remembering, Reminiscing and Recollecting events of the pasts that GOD pulled me through.

Now that’s my story, what’s yours, are you still living in denial or still feeling alone. Send me an email lets be friends, lets laugh out loud at our FEARS and take them to the CROSS. Isaiah 41:10 says “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Lets stop Suffering and lets start Smiling.
